New Canaan Teen Charged With Leaving Scene Of Crash

A New Canaan teen was busted for leaving the scene of an crash after police were able to track him down.

Maharshee Roy,19, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday after New Canaan Police responded to the 800 block of North Wilton Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash, said Lt. Jason Ferraro.

When officers arrived on scene they found a vehicle had hit a utility pole, but there was no driver on site, police said.

Following an investigation, Roy was tracked down at his home on Hidden Meadow Lane and taken into custody, Ferraro said.

He was charged with evading responsibility for property damage and failure to drive on the right. He was released after posting $260 bond.
